Michael Zhang always tweets the best links to articles, videos, photos and more. Anytime people ask for suggested Twitterers to follow I always suggest him. This morning he linked to this video of Annie Leibovitz creating images of Sean Connery for Louis Vuitton. It’s a short little video — watch it, pay attention to everyone’s attire and read below.
Of course I don’t know this for a fact, but what stuck out to me most was how everyone – Annie and her entire team – was wearing white. Know why?
White is the best color to wear when you are photographing someone. Your clothes alone will serve as a natural reflector, splashing light back onto your subject. Dark clothes absorb the light. White reflects. So, if you are like me and don’t have the desire to carry around a reflector when shooting simply wear white. You and your entire 15 person team. : )
xo!
