Brett Jarnagin’s FlashFire Workshops – whoop!

Posted in Misc on August 10, 2011

Taken in the middle of the day, my friend Brett Jarnagin, shows how you can overpower the sun, get a super-cool exposure and light up your model perfectly all by using an external flash.

Eeeeek! Did someone say flash!?

I can’t remember which interview it was, but one of the photographers I interviewed for Photography Friday said that for a long time they were a “natural light” photographer really because they had no clue how to do anything with their flash. Ha! That is awesome and probably so common.

I do love using my flash some, but I can’t do anything like what you see above. Brett is the master at creating breathtaking images using nothing more than his camera and an external flash (or two or three). And, this is why I’m writing this post.

He is touring right now to ten different cities teaching exactly how he does just what he does. AWESOME! Check out his website to see if he’s coming to a city near you and if he is SIGN-UP (SMUG members get $100 off registration)! A gifted photographer is a knowledgeable one. And, who doesn’t want to be able to create images like this with nothing more than a camera and a flash?!

Would you not die to have a picture like the one above of you and your love?! Swoon …
.
He’s coming to Cincinnati and I’m gonna be there with bells on! Come join me!
.
Ring ring!

p.s. Brett is the same photographer I’ve mentioned who created Life. Camera. Actions. The action “red sucks” is one of my top five -faves-can’t-live-without. Check ‘em out here.
