Exciting news! Our plea video + voting options will be live on MONDAY! (squeal!) I’ll make sure to post a link to them here so that you don’t have to go looking for them beeeeeeeeecause …
HGTV is incredible. I mean have you ever seen their shows?! But, seriously their website might be one of the worst designed websites I’ve ever visited. It took my husband and I almost 20 minutes to find the “Run My Makeover” section and the plea videos already posted. And, then once we did and started to vote you can’t see the options larger than a tee-tiny (like 150×150 pixel) square that can’t be enlarged. Wha???!!! THEN, we watched a video on someone’s kitchen and went to vote and it took us back to the first family’s voting options for their bathroom. Wha???!!! It is super unfortunate and makes me sad that America won’t really get to vote on our options in a way that they really know what they’re voting for and who they’re voting for.
Since I’m pretty sure all the people at the top at HGTV read this blog (I mean surely out of the dozen of you all 4-5 of you work for HGTV ; ) the website should be fixed and working by Monday.
Have I ever told you who the host is? This girl:
It’s Alexi Panos and she’s real real cute. My understanding is that she’s a model turning all handy on us. If she’s as nice as she is GORG we’ll be in good shape.
Tuesday morning a contractor came over to do his thing. He has yet to fully accept the job because HGTV is asking his team to do such a radical thing: transform an entire upstairs, which will include a super fancy bathroom in 3-days. He wants to make sure-make sure they can do it right and well and that made me really like him. My dad is also a contractor and a really gifted one that is quite the perfectionist and delights in taking care of people so I have super high expectations. I hope Todd and his team will accept the job because I think they’d do a great job.
A new piece to this crazy puzzle that was added is that Todd explained if they did do it they would certainly need to work around the clock for those 3-days. He even said we would need to warn our neighbors since there would be loud equipment (air compressors, tile cutters, etc.) being used in our garage and driveway through the night! I am praying every last one of our neighbors is obsessed with HGTV to the point where they are totally okay with having their sleep interrupted by an air compressor. This should go over just fine, don’t you think?
Poor Corey will be working in the Emergency Dept in May so he’ll have a shift the day and night before we get started and the morning after we’re “done”.
And, not sure if I mentioned this already, but we can’t leave our home at all for the 3-days they’ll be here. This is because if at any minute they need us on film we have to be ready and waiting (in the same outfit/look all 3 days!). I guess we’ll set-up camp in the basement … ? … except they said they will probably inundate our basement as well. A tent in the backyard … ?? Excuse me sir can I lay my head on your air compressor? I just need to take a short lil’ nap …
We do know though that there is no way Charley will get to stay here which makes us real sad since we’ll miss her. She’ll go to Knoxville and stay with the Grands. She will be much happier there then she would be here. Girl needs her beauty sleep and would not be happy sleeping on an air compressor and bathing in the water under the tile cutter.
The HGTV team had our design meeting on Tuesday as well and they said that they’re pretty sure we’re gonna “dig” our new layout. (squeal!) I’m real real real excited.
Monday night they called explaining that America would be voting for the design, but their design team is who provides the options. They didn’t want to provide options that were totally not “us” so they asked if I could send over some ideas of our style. Well, hmmmm … I can’t remember if I’ve even given it one thought (winking to my blog readers), but I’ll do so tonight. Although if given the option I could have easily perused design blogs for days I had about an hour that night and copy and pasted the following pics and sent them along …

love those blue, subway tiles!

Do you see the theme? Yea, me neither. I literally just snatched up every bathroom pic that made my heart swell a bit. And, here’s what was found.
Critique Me ~ Round 2 coming your way tomorrow!
