Hi friends,
I must write a quick update to all you kind souls who have commented and emailed, called and texted. You all make my world spin round. Thank you.
Today I had an appointment with … not sure how to explain her … she studied under an Amish healer for over 5 years (although she is not Amish) and when meeting with clients she does a kinesthetic-type study on your body, asking your body to tell why the symptoms are present. So, for me - we were asking my body why I am not ovulating (even though everything else is seemingly perfect). Her findings were quite interesting - low levels of good metals, resulting in high levels of toxic metals and low-functioning adrenal glands. She talked way over my head and gave a full explanation of everything, but I only heard “wah wah wah toxic metals wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah adrenals wah wah.” I even called back after leaving to have her explain again so that I could properly tell my M.D. of a husband, but I still couldn’t keep up.
Either way, I’ve been ordered to take supplements (horsetail, yum & pantothenic acid, don’t mind if I do) and she also strongly suggested I change up some things in my diet. I do not eat bad, but I also don’t eat all too well. I’m a cereal, diet coke, chips, pb&j, mac&cheese, frozen meal kind of girl. Now, I have been instructed to cut out white flour (eeek!), sugar (eeek!), and eat more organic meats (with some of the fat … eeek!), fatty dairy - eggs, cheese, whole milk, regular ice cream, etc. Funny thing is I’m not the biggest fan of dairy. Would much rather eat simple carbs all day long and wonder why I have such low energy.
So, tonight - while Corey’s hanging with the guys I plan on writing out a grocery list, researching recipes (omelettes, smoothies, etc, etc) and getting serious about this. I know I’ll feel better. I just have to do it.
So, today I feel as if Hope has rejoined me. He has come in the form of “be one with the Earth” and not such much “be one with synthetic hormone injections”.
Oh, and my blood work from the doc yesterday … I’m perfectly “normal”.
Of course.
xoxo,
jc
Hey Jess-
Have you been to a Whole Foods? They make it easy to know exactly what’s in your food.
Love you,
Liss

xoxo! so happy.

Check out 101cookbooks.com. She’s not big on the dairy, either, but has lots of complex carbs and interesting ingredient combinations, most of which are delicious. And loose the diet soda. That stuff is evil in a can. Let us know what you’re cooking!
