The collection of memories from eight years of dating unfolded on one of the most gorgeous mornings to ever grace East Tennessee’s presence. She woke filled with anticipation at 5 a.m. with a morning scheduled with hair, make-up and the official putting on of the dress she will never wear for another day as momentous. Picked up by the photographer at 6:45 to meet him by the lake, with the sun’s rays breaking up the clouds in a fireworks of sorts. The water was still, the birds floating peacefully, the grass damp with morning dew. It was a day that was free of worldly rushes and pursuits of meaningless things. It was a morning filled with hope and love … real love … the kind that fills the air and leaves everyone in a drunken state of giddiness.

I love this photo for so many reasons, but mostly because as I was snapping a photo of Jessica John took the opportunity to quickly bury his face into hers. I love the raw intimacy of it.

Possibly a favorite of the day …

If I had enough wall space I’d blow this up on a canvas and hang it over my bed.

She calls him her peace.

Studs 1-8:

The relationships that exist amongst these girls are the types movies are made of.

A wedding party stuffed full with the dearest of friends and family … such a fabulous group!

I can still hear his Scottish accent… just one more detail that made their day uniquely perfect.

John surprised Jess with two vintage bicycles that he himself ordered the parts to and put together just for their day. Her reaction was priceless.

Dearest John and Jess … I feel so blessed to have experienced your most intimate of days in such an intimate way. I felt such a myriad of emotions every time I looked through my lens. Thank you for allowing me to play such an important roll. I am indebted. Love, jc
