ONE FIFTY.

Posted in Ramblings on March 05, 2009

Yes, that’s roughly how many people have viewed this blog in the past 24 hours and NOT ONE recipe. :( Come on, people! Surely, you want to see my butt lose a few as much as I do, don’t you?! (And, do not act like you have other things going on….kids to raise, jobs to be done, lives to be led…pa-lease.)

Now, send me some healthy lovin’! I’m eagerly waiting. :D

I cam up with this – but it really doesn’t have a name – I call it Turkey Surprise – it has lots of protein!

pound of ground turkey – try to get the leanest kind
seasonings you desire for the meat – I use italian seasonings, chili seasoning, seasoned salts
1/2 tsp. of roasted garlic (i use the kind from the jar)
    can of sweet corn (drained)
can of fire roasted diced tomatoes
smallest can of tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce
    tbsp olive oil
    optional chopped onions

Heat your pan up with olive oil and garlic (and onions if u wish). Add the ground turkey and seasoned salt and brown. Drain. put pan back on the stove and add other seasonings and mix well. Add corn, tomatoes, and sauce and mix. Add salt if you need.
You can pretty much add any vegetable to this also.

Sometimes I add a touch of tobasco for taste also. This is very healthy and filling. I love it because it is pretty hard to mess up!

I love to mix a can of black beans and shoe peg corn (both drained) with a can of rotel tomatoes. Add some onion, lime, and cilantro to taste. Top a bed of lettuce with this mixture, salsa, and avocado. Yummy!!! I sometimes grill chicken strips on the foreman and add to this salad. It satisfies the craving for Tex-mex.

do the Bronte’s grilled chicken & pear salad… romaine, light poppyseed dressing, sliced pears, raisins or craisins, grilled chicken, (they use blue cheese.. but not exactly calorie friendly)sliced almonds if you want some good fats,, yummm

or pepper chicken pasta..red pepper and yellow pepper sliced, grill chicken cooked in fat free Ken’s steakhouse ceaser dressing (saute, bake or grill whatever is easiest), cook a pot of the high protein barilla pasta, blanch the peppers in the boiling pasta water at the last minute and then put the chicken, pasta and peppers in a big bowl together wiht a bunch of black pepper and a bit more of the light dressing.. parmesian if you want… easy, low cal and great tasting.
