Photography Friday

Posted in Fridays on July 24, 2009

Create yourself an in-home studio!

The sun shining through a window is some of the best light to obtain when taking photographs. The light shining this way will almost always be soft and similar to light strived for in studios. To obtain it, move your subjects over to a large window where the sun is shining through and wahlah! Gorgeousness! Oh, and don’t forget that sometimes you might have to move the furniture around a bit to be able to use the best location - with the best lighting - in your house.

For the photo below we simply moved the dining room table out of the way, laid out a down comforter and did our photo shoot right there. As you can tell the light is even, soft and rich. In addition I used my flash to splash a little light into her eyes to make them standout even more. Obtaining bright eyes in Photoshop is easy, but when you can do it SOOC it’s even better!

I’m in California with my mom visiting my sister! Working a bit, playing a lot and enjoying these wonderful summer days. Happy weekend everyone!
