The Simple Portrait:
You know back in the day when the photographer would spend 15 minutes setting you up to get that perfect, stale and boring headshot? Nowadays our photos are much more alive filled with action and movement, color and emotion. But, what about the boring portrait? Is there something valuable in the stale and boring headshot? I’ve recently found that the answer to that is yes! And, so for many of my shoots I try my hardest to snatch a photo of each of my subject’s beautifully boring headshot. I feel like there’s something invaluable in such a simple shot. Don’t you agree?
This weekend spend a bit of time taking simple and boring headshots of the ones you love. I feel confident you’ll be happy you did! : )

p.s. don’t forget to use soft lighting to flatter your subjects best!
