Us in Las Vegas. Some taken in our hotel room, others taken when my friend Kellan took us to see the amazing Red Rock Canyon and a bit taken by the pool outside of the MGM.
It felt good to make photographs again. Just one more thing leaving me very ready for Spring.
The sun was high in the sky and incredibly bright. It helped me see though why I’m loving more and more those mid-day shoots where the light overwhelms and the wonky shadows are present. It’s the type of light that challenges me. It’s the type of light that forces me step out of my “I only shoot early morning and late afternoon” ways. This year I’m going to try and schedule more shoots in the middle of the day.
Pause. Before you start thinking about how wonderful it must have felt basking in the sun I must show you this:
Kelly took this picture of me using my camera. That’s me freezing my hoo-haaas off! It was nice, definitely a break from the Midwest, but it was still only 50 or so and incredibly windy. My eyes were watering so bad I had mascara running across my temples. Play.
And, one more Kelly took of me. Oww, work it girl (with smeared mascara edited out)!
Tennessee to Texas and everywhere between – I love how cowboy boots never go out of style.
Have a fun weekend!
