The Becky Earl photo I love so much:

Posted in Life, Misc on June 03, 2011

My fellow photographer and uber-talented friend, Becky Earl took this picture …

… and posted it to her blog last week. I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. It is these types of photos that I believe are what become heirlooms to our families. She was changing out her roll of film and when she returned she found the brothers doing just what they were doing naturally. She was able to quickly snap this photo before she interrupted their moment.

Portraits are beautiful and important and what a tragedy it’d be if we didn’t have them. But, these types of moments – the ones where you can sneakily be a “fly on the wall” – are the ones I think we will cherish most when we look back on our images years, even decades, from now.

So, this weekend I’m going to pull out my camera and take at least a few images of life playing out around here. My dad is coming to town so I’m hoping I can capture a few “fly on the wall” moments capturing his visit.

I hope you’ll join me and I’d love to see them! ; )

Have a happy weekend!

That will be fun! Enjoy your time with your dad. Our Project 52 theme this week was daily life: http://amycraftphotography.com/2011/06/03/project-52-daily-life-week-21/

And just after I typed my comment I noticed my 8yo reading on the sofa and my 5yo eating apples at the table. So I jumped up and grabbed my camera! :)
